But who will take care of the people?
Once a year, we request financial aid. The Open Door Clinic uses the funds to pay utilities, repair the roof and windows, pay for the building security system, purchase baby wipes and diapers, and pay for materials we use to package items into useable sizes for distribution.
In past years, our contributions have varied from $20 to $ 2,000, and when we total things up, amount to between $10,000 and 14,000 dollars during this fundraising time. Note: During the year, we have a regular contributor who gives $21.67 periodically, and another contributor who donates $500.00 periodically. Thank you to both.
In the past we have taken advantage of matching corporate grants which have been very generous. We hope they will continue their generosity.
So we are asking our friends to consider a 2023 gift to the Open Door Clinic at St. Wilfrid’s.
We know it’s tough. Costs are up, way up. Food, gas, utilities are high, and donating this year is harder than last year.
Our fundraising period will be until December 1, 2023 for gifts and pledges. We already have pledges for $2,400.00.
